This China-UK Connections-through-Culture project seeks to bring a substantial group of important Chinese music promoters, key venue programmers, festival directors, orchestral managers, music conservatoire representatives etc. to the Association of British Orchestras conference in Brighton, South Bank, Barbican and Birmingham Symphony Hall in January 2008.

The delegation will be an outstanding group of individuals who cover the whole spectrum of music relevant to the British orchestral sector. As there is no equivalent to the ABO in
China, colleagues in China have identified those best positioned to contribute most effectively to the UKChina orchestral sector dialogue.  They will be briefed on arrival prior to a London Philharmonic Orchestra event at the South Bank, attend most of the ABO Conference following which they will return to London to attend the BBC Symphony Orchestra's Judith Weir event at the Barbican on Saturday 19 January. There will be a meeting with the International Artist Managers’ Association on Monday 21 as well as a visit to Birmingham on Tuesday 22 January to Symphony Hall where the group will hear the Philharmonia in concert.
