IAMA International Conferences
The 20th IAMA International Conference - Around Us, Cité de la Musique, 22-24 April 2010
"Around Us" (in French, environ ) is a term that embraces the broad concept of man’s interaction with his surroundings and the impact it has on him. Notably in our field of work, it is the human element that makes the spaces we inhabit in the performing arts important to the success of our work. It is how we use our resources, talents and enterprise to reach people. If we think of this as "environment" we need to think about the broader context of where we perform, our impact we make in our communities, on the artists we manage and the audiences who engage with us. It is also about the sustainable environment too which today we cannot ignore. The conference will seek inspire delegates to think about their work and create a new awareness of what is "Around Us".
