He has given great assistance to Japan’s local communities with ongoing activities in the hope that they will be able to continue their own cultural development in the near future.

Mr Shigeta established Azuma Shokai Trading Co., Ltd. in 1969, and his company conducts various kinds of businesses throughout the world. He is involved in many other activities including a fundraising campaign for the research of serious disease and a scholarship award named Shigeta Music Award for top music students, which allows them to study at Aspen Music Festival and School.

Since founding Aspen Resort Systems Inc. in 1988, which is now known as Aspen Incorporated, Mr Shigeta has been directly involved with various cultural events including the education sector (Ishikawa Music Academy). In 2001 and 2002 he organized two relief charity concerts for the victims of New York World Trade Center tragedy.
